Travelist Series | Packing for Outer Banks, NC

Travelist Series | Outer Banks, NC: Camping on the Beach Packing List

Travelist is a new series that will help you plan out your adventures, near and far. I'll be covering all things travel-related in list form, from packing lists to city guides. In honor of the last days of summer, first up is a packing list for a casual wardrobe, perfect for camping on the beach!

Next week, Mike and I are headed to Outer Banks, NC, for one last summer adventure. Typically, we're all about the mountains, but after a few other vacation plans fell through and some stressful weeks, we are so ready to hit the beach!

Since we'll be roadtripping, then camping out of our Nissan Xterra, this trip will be super casual and laid back. Staying true to form, my wardrobe for this trip will be pretty basic, but still quite versatile. I'm no fashion blogger, but I thought it would be fun (and hopefully helpful!) to share what I'm bringing along.

TANKS | Perfect for wearing over swimsuits, sightseeing, and exploring the scenery, these are comfortable and easy to layer.

OVERSIZED TSHIRT | You can't go wrong with a flowy top. This particular shirt is from Lamixx and I wear it all. the. time. It's so soft and can easily be dressed up or down, so it's my go to for traveling!

CHAMBRAY | Obviously. Beach cover up, light jacket for cool nights, pair with the grey shorts or a dress for a casual evening chambray shirt will go a long way.

SWEATSHIRT | Because sometimes, even the beach gets cold.

SHORTS | For wearing to and from the beach, hiking, and exploring around town.

JOGGERS | These pants are so comfy. It feels like wearing sweatpants but these are slim enough to look good anywhere. They'll come in handy for cool nights + when we're on the road.

2 SWIMSUITS | Because there's nothing worse than having to put on a swimsuit that's still wet.

CASUAL DRESS | Easy to toss on over a swimsuit or to dress up for a night out. And as a bonus, this one from Prana dries quickly, too! It's extremely comfortable while still being super flattering.

CHACOS | It took me awhile to get on board with them, but Chacos have become my go to shoe for any and all outdoor summer adventures. We'll be doing a lot of walking + some hiking, so these should be perfect for the job.

SANDALS | These t-strap sandals are another versatile piece—they go with pretty much anything. I just got these from Sseko and they are amazing (plus their company's mission is fantastic. Check them out!).

TOTE | I don't have an actual beach bag, so I'm working with what I have. Totes are always nice to have around anyway since they can double as a purse when needed!
